Web Album

Well, this could certainly be fun for students. It would be great to create an online web album for each class activity, so that other students or even parents could keep track of what we're doing all day. Also, it could pique an interest of other students to want to take your class, and give your current students something to talk about, and show their families. View mine here:

Photoshop Express

This was interesting. It was a lot of fun to play around with the different tools you can use to edit a photo. Not the greatest picture of me, but the easiest to edit.

Crappy Graphics

This assignment actually didn't take very long. The toughest part was deciding which diagram I would use, and what data would be most helpful in a classroom to help students visually understand. All of the diagram and graph tools will be most helpful to me one day in my own classroom.

Online Graphics

This activity caused me to have to be a little more organized. I had about 6 tabs going at once, flipping back and forth to each to compare information, as well as make my graphs. I saved each to FTP so that they would be easily accessible, and not send the viewer all over the place. Take a look...

Image Capture

Okay, so I chose a photo of some nice looking pool that I found on the internet, that I'd like to be laying beside or floating in. Then I saved it as jpeg, and opened it in Paint. I cut off the excess border, and colored it pink. Then I typed the word "Paradise" at the top, and colored the background of the text to match the border. And to give it a little extra look, I used the spray paint tool with white around the edge of the text box, so it wouldn't look so harsh against the beautiful picture. In a Health class, i might give my students a skeleton with all the bones, and give them directions with a list of all the names of the bones, and a color to paint them. They would have to figure out which bone was which in order to know what bone to paint what color. Let your imaginiation take you away at the pool:

Graphics

Well, I think I did it. I created a graphic using Word that I may someday use in either a Phys. Ed. or Health class. I began with Insert a diagram, only to find out that I did not have the skill, or it was not possible to create my pyramid using this function. So, I designed my own pyramid as best as I could in Paint. I copy and pasted the picture to my Word document, and then used Word Art from there, so that I could move the words around easily and make them the size, shape, and color that is most convenient and eye pleasing. I played around with some clip art to match the categories, but found that they made it look cluttered, and harder to understand. An exercise that I might do with this pyramid is have a separate sheet of a bunch of pictures, and let the students get involved by deciding which picture belongs where. Have a look for yourself:

Dale's Cone

First, you read through a little bit about how we learn...visual being the best. Then, as you read on, it describes all the research that is done with figures that add up perfectly, and exactly, and how we, as people, just take it for what it is, and move on without question. After reading this, I start totally realizing that I am definitely one of those people. I think to myself, and come to the conclusion that that's true. That numbers like that can't possibly be real. And then I get to see all of Dale's cones that he has constructed that fall directly into this category. You can't fool me anymore, Dale!

FTP

I had never heard of this before, and I have to admit, I was a little nervous. Once I went ahead and followed the directions, everything went as smooth as butter. This is a really useful tool to know how to use.

Resume!

Hopefully someday I will be able to use this resume. I have my goal graduation date beside the MAT section. It's gonna take some major effort after I have this baby, I believe...we'll see!
